Scott Essex
Co-Founder, Managing Partner

Scott directs the firm's operations and its alternative & direct investments platform, ensuring that Five Eleven Partners consistently offers unique opportunities and innovative solutions for families.

Before co-founding Five Eleven Partners, Scott was a Partner and Co-Head of Global Private Debt at Partners Group. There, he led and managed the firm’s direct lending and fund investment businesses, growing assets under management from c. $1bn in 2007 to over $26bn. Scott served on the firm's Global Executive Board and Global Investment Committee and chaired the Direct Debt Investment Committee. In earlier stages of his career, Scott worked at GE Capital in the Media, Communications, and Entertainment finance group and at Lazard in London, where he specialized in M&A and restructuring advisory.

Currently, Scott is an external member of the BlueEarth Capital Investment Committee. He serves on the boards of CapitalSpring Finance Company and The Teagle Foundation, where he chairs the Investment Committee. Scott previously sat on the boards of directors of Bauer Hockey, Allied Universal (fka: Universal Services of America), Taylor Wharton, TruckPro, Affordable Care, Diversified Maintenance Systems. Scott has served on the Limited Partner Advisory Committees of over 15 global private markets funds.

Scott earned an MBA with distinction from Georgetown University and a BS in Business Administration from the University of Vermont. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family.
